Payroll Manager - Landscapes Management Company

Position Description:

Responsibilities.  The payroll manager position is responsible for managing and/or performing all activities necessary for timely and accurate payroll processing and reporting for the Company’s management division.  This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Processing bi-weekly payroll, either directly or through management of a third-party payroll provider, ensuring compliance with all legal and Company requirements
  • Responsible for proper calculation and remittance of payroll taxes, involuntary and voluntary deductions, benefits payments and all related reports
  • Identifying, investigating and correcting errors and inconsistencies related to wage rates and payments, benefits, employee classifications, payroll reports and employee data
  • Identifying and preparing labor and payroll reports that will assist in the efficient management of labor resources and dollars
  • Monitoring statutory or regulatory changes that impact payroll requirements and implementing necessary changes
  • Regularly reviewing the Company’s payroll policies, practices and processes to identify, recommend and implement improvements
  • May assist in the review, testing and implementation of HRIS improvements, upgrades or migration of data

Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of the payroll process, related reporting and federal/state wage and hour laws
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Planning and organization skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects

Position Description:

Responsibilities.  The payroll specialist position is responsible for performing assigned activities necessary for timely and accurate processing and reporting of payroll and payroll-related payments for the Company’s construction division. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    • Processing bi-weekly payroll and weekly certified payroll
    • Ensuring time sheets have been received; reconciling and validating payroll data to ensure payroll is calculated accurately
    • Processing and tracking payroll-related payments and benefits such as expense reports, advances and paid time off

Manual labor responsible for cutting grass on tee boxes, fairways, roughs, fringes, and greens; will irrigate the course and work irrigation system; sodding; trimming. $12.50/hour paid bi-weekly (every two weeks). 40hrs/wk. 6:00am - 2:30pm, Sunday - Saturday. OT as needed ($18.89/hour). Housing provided free of charge for employees outside of commuting distance. LU will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Position Description:


Hands on manual labor working on staking/layout, drainage, bunkers, finishing, greens and tees, operating equipment, etc.; informs crews of the day's planned activities and equips crews with necessary tools and materials; instructs and trains crews in assigned task, such as irrigation installation, tee and bunker creation, sodding, seeding, staking/flagging, operating and maintaining equipment; manages inventory of equipment, supplies and materials, and fuel; identifies and eliminates potential waste that may occur during performance of assigned tasks, including material waste such as irrigation heads, irrigation pipe and wire, gravel and greens mix; ensures assigned equipment and tools are properly maintained through performance of routine preventative maintenance, assists in maintaining project records such as deliver tickets, purchase orders, safety meeting rosters; assists in creating as-built drawings; and reports potential problems to the Project Superintendent. $22.35/hour paid bi-weekly (every two weeks). 40hrs/wk. 6:00am - 2:30pm, Sunday - Saturday.
