New private golf club in Traphill announced | journalpatriot.com

Plans for Contentment Golf Club in Traphill, a new private club with an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse and other amenities, were announced this week.

A groundbreaking event was held Wednesday. Those present included Curt Sidden of Davidson, identified in a press release from Lincoln, Neb.-based Landscapes Unlimited as owner of Contentment and its 800-plus acres.

His father, Dr. Curtis Sidden, 92, also was there. He grew up on the property and has been heavily involved in planning for Contentment, the release said.

The senior Sidden’s vision is to provide a “quiet, happy-place getaway for city and suburban dwellers alike,” stated the release. He is former superintendent of Pickens County Schools in South Carolina.

The acreage is south of Longbottom Road and is accessible from Piney Grove Church Road on the east and Absher Road on the west. It borders the Stone Mountain Golf Resort LLC property on Greenstreet Mountain on the east.

“Contentment is a tribute to my grandparents, with whom I spent time here as a boy,” said Curt Sidden, a third-generation owner of the property. “My family showed me the benefits of a quiet, uncomplaining and satisfied mind, and we hope Contentment is a true, tranquil haven for the body, mind and soul.”
