Chances are, you’re already familiar with our work. Since 1976, Landscapes Unlimited has worked on more Major Championship venues, more top-100 courses, and completed more projects than anyone else. Simply put, you can trust us with your most valuable asset.

  • New Construction

Few projects are as rewarding as creating a course from the ground up. In fact, it is so much fun that we’ve done it for ourselves more than a dozen times. The key to a new construction project is complete alignment and a true partnership between the owner, architect, and builder. We take great pride in our long-standing relationships with owners and architects alike.

  • Renovation

As golf course owners, we intimately understand the challenges of executing a renovation project while balancing your operation’s ongoing customer experience and fiscal well-being. Landscapes is committed to managing your project with minimal disruption and returning the club to complete operational status on time and on budget.

The longtime pheasant hunting destination is adding an 18-hole Craig & Coyne course, a 12-hole short course and a short-game area.

Landscapes Unlimited and sister company Landscapes Golf Management have been selected to guide the transformation and addition of an 18-hole championship golf course at the Lazy J Grand Lodge in Ideal, South Dakota. Under a new Lazy J Sporting Club brand, Lazy J will convert to a private destination club with the planned par-72, 7,216-yard layout designed by Craig & Coyne that is scheduled to start construction soon and open in summer 2027. The natural topography is rife with rolling hills, dramatic ravines, elevation changes and waterways. The course will feature creative greens, naturalized bunkers and short walks from greens to tees.   Read the full article on Golf Course Industry.  Undo

Scott Hoffman design in South Dakota approaches completion

Seeding and sodding work on the Scott Hoffman-designed course for the new Mapleton Golf Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is almost complete. The course is expected to open by early autumn of 2025. One of the primary characteristics of the course will be its wide bentgrass fairways, with expanded areas of fairway cut around many of the greens. “The fairways are wide so playability is great off the tee but angles and using the slopes, which are definitely prevalent on many holes, will dictate approaches,” said Hoffman. “The greens are slightly larger than average, with some great variety in shapes and slopes, making very interesting hole locations but also offering terrific diversity for day-to-day play. The tees are not formal boxes but more of a fairway look that continues into where the fairway would normally start.”   Read the full article on Golf Course Architecture.  Undo

Landscapes Unlimited founder Bill Kubly led a meaningful project at Monroe Golf Club

Bill Kubly is known as the grandfather of golf course construction. In 1976, he founded Landscapes Unlimited, a longtime leader in golf course construction, renovation and management. The Lincoln, Neb.-based company’s résumé is extensive and includes work on several major-championship golf courses, including the construction of Erin Hills Golf Course, the public venue in Erin, Wis., that hosted the 2017 U.S. Open. But for Kubly, who turned 75 in July, no project hit closer to home and his heart than the recent bunker renovation he led at Monroe Golf Club in Monroe, Wis., where Kubly grew up. “The course meant so much to my family and me when I was growing up,” says Kubly, who learned to play golf on the course when it was known as the Monroe Country Club and fondly remembers attending Friday night fish fries at the clubhouse. “The opportunity to enhance it was a dream come true.” The club, which opened in 1923 as a nine-hole course and added another nine holes about 50 years later, was a mainstay in the small south-central Wisconsin town for many years. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, it was a vibrant club that counted many medical professionals as members.   Read the full article on Golf Course Management Magazine.  Undo
  • Sutton Bay Golf Club Landscapes Unlimited showcased its expertise in developing and constructing Sutton Bay Golf Club, a premierRead More
Landscapes Unlimited showcased its expertise in developing and constructing Sutton Bay Golf Club, a premier private golf club in central South Dakota. The project included creating an 18-hole championship golf course, a driving range, 60 lodging units, a clubhouse, cart storage facility, irrigation system, cart paths, pump station, maintenance buildings, infrastructure, and the meticulous grow-in process. The development and construction of Sutton Bay Golf Club presented several notable highlights. The high-end golf course was crafted among rolling hills, rugged dunes, and picturesque views of Lake Oahe. With an inland links design spanning approximately 7,245 yards, the par 72 course offered a challenging yet captivating experience for members and guests. Landscapes Unlimited's attention to detail and strategic approach ensured the seamless integration of the course within the expansive property. Landscapes Unlimited built a second maintenance building closer to the course to enhance the facility's functionality, serving dual purposes as a maintenance facility and pump house. This strategic decision optimized maintenance operations and streamlined resource management. A remarkable aspect of Landscapes Unlimited's construction approach was the thoughtful preservation and integration of the natural landscape. Native grass from areas designated for fairway clearance was carefully repurposed to surround the bunkers, seamlessly blending them with the surrounding environment. This attention to detail created a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic throughout the course. Beyond the construction phase, Landscapes Golf Management was crucial to the club's operational success. They developed a comprehensive operations plan for Sutton Bay Golf Club, including the hiring and development of the club's management team. Their expertise in membership documents and operational guidelines ensured the smooth functioning of the club. Additionally, Landscapes spearheaded the development and implementation of sales programs, attracting new members to the club and contributing to its ongoing success. The Sutton Bay project is a testament to Landscapes Unlimited's prowess in golf course construction. Through exceptional attention to design, integration of natural landscapes, and comprehensive operational planning, Landscapes Unlimited has established a premier destination that embodies the perfect harmony between sport, nature, and impeccable hospitality.
