One notable achievement of the construction team was implementing a cutting-edge irrigation system. Shanqin Bay Golf Club became the first in China to utilize both high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe and single-head control, revolutionizing irrigation practices in the region. Using innovative techniques and materials allowed the course to maintain its impeccable condition throughout the year, enhancing the playing experience for golfers.

Beyond construction, LU worked with the operations experts at sister-company Landscapes Golf Management to develop a club model that blended the finest aspects of private clubs in North America with the unique characteristics of Chinese clubs. From meticulously crafting club covenants and documents to establishing operation guidelines, LU & LGM ensured that Shanqin Bay Golf Club would exude an aura of exclusivity and luxury. Sewailo Golf Club

Landscapes Unlimited acted as the turnkey design/build contractor for the Sewailo Golf Course, undertaking a comprehensive range of elements. The scope included the construction of an 18-hole championship golf course and the development and implementation of irrigation systems for over 300 acres of golf and landscape areas. We also handled 1.5 miles of stream-bank management, creating nine acres of lakes and constructing all practice facilities and infrastructure.

One of the project’s key highlights was the meticulous environmental preservation efforts. The Pascua Yaqui Tribe had a dual goal of promoting economic development while respecting the land and environment. Landscapes Unlimited salvaged more than 6,000 native trees and plants – including endangered species. These plants were harvested, maintained, and replanted, resulting in a landscape that thrives with over 36,000 trees and plants, primarily using water-conserving drip irrigation and a native plant palette.

Another significant achievement was the construction of the maintenance facility, which featured a 9,100-square-foot building, material bins, refuse/dumpster area, fuel island, wash pad, parking, and paved access to the course. This facility ensured efficient maintenance and upkeep of the course, contributing to its long-term success.

Affectionately known by locals as “The Max,” The Max Mandel Municipal Golf Course in Laredo, Texas, is a renowned golf facility named after Max Mandel, a philanthropist and prominent figure in the community. Designed by acclaimed architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. and built by Landscapes Unlimited, the course opened in 2013 to meet the growing demand for a premier golfing destination.

Spanning over 270 acres along the Rio Grande, the course offers stunning views of the river and the Mexican landscape. With its natural contours seamlessly integrated into the design, the course provides a challenging yet fair layout that golfers across the state seek out.

Featuring an 18-hole championship course, Max Mandel Municipal Golf Course measures 7,200 yards with strategically placed bunkers, water hazards, and plenty of the risk-reward choices that RTJ II is known for. It presents a par-72 challenge that demands precision and thoughtful play.

Beyond the course, the facility offers a driving range, practice greens, and a well-stocked pro shop. The clubhouse includes a restaurant and event spaces, making it a popular venue for tournaments and social gatherings.
